I have a short ram intake. it sits over by the battery where the stock box used to be.
*UPDATE*
upon farther looking into the bird call. it didn’t do it today, just a bearing groan. i lifted to hood on it today after running my errands and the cooling fan kicked on…..well… sorta. more like limped on and made the sound i was hearing all this time. so, my guess is that the bearing on the fan is gone, doesn’t make a sound when i accelerate because its pushed back in its normal position and when i decelerate it makes it pop out, making the noise! the high pitched squeal is that my air filter is dirty. thank you for the ideas. you guys make troubleshooting a lot easier.

got it into the shop on friday. low voltage to the trans via ign switch. torque converter is fried, and possibly looking to have a new trans put in it. they wont tell me why, they like to keep things in lamens terms, i think im getting screwed. i really dont trust anyone but myself to fix things anymore after i got burned on my 300zx.since other people do read this ill give you the outcome after i know more from the dealership.

ive heard alot of bad things about the 4L60E trans. so bad that there is a website that lists 30 common problems…..discouraging. it started making a new noise today. slowing down from the first runthrough of the gears i can hear a obvious tink/thump. almost like the a/c compressor but more abusive. another thing ive found today is that if i keep the engine temp under 210 it does fine, once it gets to 210 it starts screwing up. wonder if the temp sensor has something to do with this as well. ill be taking it to the shop this week anyways. keep ya posted. and eric, you are epic bud!

i would check the switch itself, check for arc marks on the contacts. maybe your running lights and off are arced together somehow? next. check for loose wires from the switch to the fuse box. lastly check for southern engineering. any splicing, cut wires, or cut off wires. ive seen alot of people splice aftermarket lights into the light switch and just change out the fuse for a bigger one that now sits in a charred puddle of plastic that used to be a fuse box.

well, calling me inexperienced is a slap in the face. i DO know what an ABS compressor sounds like. I DO know that my ABS is non operational, and i DO know that my wheel sensors are fine. so instead of the condescending criticism i basically just want to know one thing. IS IT SERVICEABLE? parts? replace the whole unit? ????

that all sounds dandy (yes i said dandy). im really intrigued with this G22/23 mod ive been researching. all the benefits of both engines in one. from what ive gathered, the f22 is an awesome block to boost. iron cylinder sleeves, rock solid crank. h22 has a good baseline, easy to tune, easy to maintain. even the h22 in my friends lude knocks me out when i stomp the gas, and its just a 2.2 no vtec. so to have the benefits of good compression, reliable innards, and a non interference engine. wow. i mean i get what you guys are saying. i really do. but i want this car to be really something. unique, sophisticated, and one of a kind. and have something no one else does. and when i say rally, i mean rally. articulated steering, all wheel drive, pikes peak eating monster. 👿 alot of people say it cant be done. alot of people say its a waste of money. i understand this. money is not an object in this though.
