Sounds like it is boiling.
Did you replace thermostat.
does the cooling fan operate?

No as they have to be pulsed at the right time for a length of time calculated by the desired fuel mixture.

I would think it is a coolant hose leaking.
as for the steam and water probably cold there?

Fuel pressure regulator is my guess.
Just can’t figure out how the fuel got into the charge line without hydro locking the the motor.
aka filling a cylinder then the intake manifold then carburetor then hat then inter cooler.
