Attachments:Yes tried that but as I adjust it(ECM) keeps re-adjusting it back to 25 btdc. The way I see it the ECM has a certain amout of adjustment it can make(be it +/- say 25 degrees). So if your base timing is W/out ECM control set at 10btdc, then ECM can set it from 35 btdc thru 15 atdc. Is this the way the system works or otherwise in theory you would be able to drop the dist in at any position and it would adjust it to what it wanted. Long story short w/out the right dist and hold down I need to find the spot where the base timing is right according to the book then give control back over to the ECM. I think(I am not always the sharpest knife in the drawer)

Talked with customer, and no history of adding coolant to date. And haven’t really looked but if so it not noticeable any plume’s of smoke(burning oil) at start up.

I believe Champion Copper Core’s(have to look tomorrow), that is what the part’s store said is OEM. It’s a 2005 so it has a COP(coil on plug) system, but have moved it(coil) to #1 and moved plug to #2. Only thing haven’t moved yet is injector, but that is because it is so much more labor intensive to move unlike the others. I guess gotta try moving that now. Because code always sets #4 when it sets. Maybe I am reading more into this then I should but the freeze frame data setting code at under 400RPM’s has me curious.

4.7 and been reading story’s of rocker arm’s fallen out but that would seam more permanent and not intermittent.

OK, balance test didn’t revel much because when it did mess up, it would clear up before I could do much. But freeze frame data says it happens at CTS=same as ambient fuel=open loop RPM=338. So like I said I think its setting code at start up then after 3-5 seconds it clears up. And it is so intermittent but does seam to be more frequent with the A/C on. Maybe a crank sensor? but then why always #4? No detectable vacuum leaks around intake excellent compression?? Listening to the injector it sounds fine(like all the others). I think scannerdanner has something about checking current flow on injectors might try that. maybe just a slow/sticky injector at start up.

Yes she runs again, and THANK YOU to the forum. Sometimes you get so into things and then you start second guessing yourself. It helps sometimes just to hear(or read…lol) someone else saying it to put you at ease.

Well pulled out the dist and all the wires, and just started over fresh. This time using Eric’s method and the Autozone diagram. Gave it a little squirt of starting fluid and hit the remote start button and she fired right off. And although my neighbors might not agree it sounded awesome, little loud with it just being straight headers at the moment. But definitely sounded stout and healthy. If your really quite you can hear the back tires screaming for mercy already. Can’t wait to button it all up and get it off the lift. Wish could find something better then a Iphone to record it with to post.
