Hey guys I’m really sorry for not updating. But here is what happened since I was working on taking out the canister shut valve as I decided to take out the whole canister out and then try to take out the screws but unfortunately right next day my car wont start 🙁 So, I took out my battery went to autozone for free check up and they said battery died and I was like what? I just bought my car’s battery 3 months back ago they say you might be running some high voltage of amplifier. Well as a fact I don’t have any custom speakers neither amplifier so I put it back again and runs pretty good for almost 2 days and it starts having problems and third day my car wont even start again. Few of my friends told me it’s probably alternator so I went to autozone on my second day for alternator check up and the guy came out and used some sort of machine checked my alternator while my car was running and he said everything works fine and I was like then why is it feels weird when I try to start up my car. He said probably crankshaft or ignition coil or maybe spark plugs then he asked me you have a CEL and I said yes but that’s for the evap canister shut valve. He suggests me that taking out the alternator and bring it in would be the best idea for me to see if my alternator really working or not so I took it out and tested and failure alternator was the problem so I replaced it with a new one and my car starts with no problem. But here comes the weird part that how I was driving my car with CEL which throw code that points towards Evap canister but don’t know what happened that code disappeared like it never came and I’ve been driving my car for almost a month and still waiting for CEL to show up on my dashboard but nothing 🙂 I’m kind a happy but confused too I mean what could have happened that made CEL disappeared permanently? Thanks for reading this long message and Thanks again for all of your suggestions C8-)

Thanks 619Diofan, I actually went online and read some good reviews about that tool you suggested me and I think I’ll definitely buy it. Thanks Dreamer2355, I couldn’t use vice grips because there isn’t enough space to take it out the CEL is ON and the code is p1457 that points to Evap canister. Thanks Eric, I think I need to buy impact wrench ASAP so that can actually save up some time and the reason why I think it is because I got a CEL and I went to autozone and they pull code which is p1457 that points to Evap Canister and in my car Evap canister is behind gas tank. I did went down to see if it’s there any cracks or something is wrong but everything seems to be fine so I searched lot over the Internet and came across with this link which this guy shows that typically 98 accord ex Evap canister shut valve goes wrong specially in areas where they put lot of salt and I’m from Chicago. Here is the link http://www.6thgenaccord.com/forums/show … p+canister and in this link as you could see it’s 12mm bolt he took out and I couldn’t. Again thanks for the help guys

Hey I would like to give a update that I did took out the wheel bearing assembly with no problem except that inner bearing was stuck on the axle and that was kind a pain to get out but I went up to Autozone and bought chisel and that actually helped out and inner bearing just came out within less than a minute. Eric, I’m trying to take my evap canister out and I’m having hard time because one 12mm bolt that is attached to Evap canister wont come out because It’s all rusted and I tried spraying PB blaster but my socked wont even hold up on bolt head any suggestions would be appreciate because I’m tired of seeing that CEL on my dashboard all the time.

yes i am, lol i blushed when Eric mentioned me because he made me feel more special than anyone ever has and i wish i could repay him for that

nice, Oh well I’m no one to give out suggestions to anyone but since Eric specially mentioned about getting education is more than anything else. Then I think follow his advice go to mechanical school and get certified or create some videos and put in this forum and it would be something interesting to watch a girl fixes car through Eric The Car Guys’ videos. BTW did I ever mentioned how much I love this forum because I was on 6th gen Accord forum before and barely anyone answer to your question out there but over here everyone try to help out each other. I’ve never love any forums before except now. Thanks to Ericthecarguy! Happy New Year everyone {: Be sure to check out my posted video on General Discussion well is not related to cars but something I did it so make sure to check it out.

Thank you so much onthe7thdayford and Big c much appreciated. I’m really sorry for not updating the status but here is the good news what I did was I replaced the Power steering pump assembly basically bought it one from Junkyard so that saved up some money and flush old power steering fluid from the pump reservor and added the new fluid and replaced the belts and make sure they are tight but not too tight. So that solve the problem! right there! I’m sure you guys might be confused that replacing belts cause my pump steering goes bad the reason why it happened because I opened my pump assembly and don’t ask me why I guess I was just curious to know what’s inside so there’s one rotor which contains small 10 metal pieces lined up around the rotor and when I opened up the pump assembly then accidently some metal pieces just got out and went somewhere in the engine. At that moment I didn’t really care I thought it just small something who cares nothing would happened then I later on my friend checked it out told me that sometimes a small part inside the machine could cause problems and try replacing ps pump and see if that helps so I did change the pump and now everything is fine. Thanks for the help guys I really appreciate. W;)

Thanks Dj Devon 3. First off, I would like to thanks everyone out here who helped me a lot to fix my problem. Here comes the good news!!!! My car runs smooth now because I just cleaned my IAC Valve with throttle body intake cleaner and took me about to 1/2 hour to clean it because I was kept spraying and cleaning out with a cloth and put it back everything together and runs fine! I drove for about 20 to 20 minutes and stop at many lights including stop sings and waited to see if the rpm moves up and down but I didn’t do anything weird. So I’m so happy the car runs normal and I would like to thank you guys one more time for helping me out. (:

Thanks Jbone & Erick. Yesterday, I tried carb cleaner trick go find any vaccum leak but unfortunately tht didnt helped me out. But I’m having ECU(Engine Check Light) p0505 I even looked it up online so it says Idle Air Control Valve IAC. I’m planning on to clean tht out with a carb cleaner and replace it with a new gasket. I’m wondering would that be a good Idea? Any suggestions will be appreciated
