Question, i have a 96 and 97 jetta trek. i used rear end from my 97 for my 96 but it keeps banging, really bad i am almost positive i did everything right but unsure what i did wrong. something must have went wrong due to the massive bang from a small bump in highway. should i just reverse the rear ends again? PS. both coil overs are in good condition.
I am very new to this and not very knowledgeable but, Did you try to unhook battery again for a few minutes to see if that improved anything again. maybe you just cleared a code with out knowing it?
Also did you touch the metal on the MAF at all by accident? You don’t want to rub or even touch the metal on them could hinder it poorly.
My VW regardless of the problem’s. I don’t know why but, i do have to say favorite care ever .
I have demolition derby-ed a lot due to engine failure.Attachments:I am not very knowledgeable but, did you take a look at the EGR valve> Check for carbon build up holding the valve open?
Did you check your mass air flow sensor> Do Not Touch the metal on the MAF, Use a carburetor cleaner and spray wires and air dry. Removes oxidation on wires that hinder’s accuracy.
Maybe if someone here has a 97 Jetta trek they could msg me, i replaced the entire fuse box now, i just have a few basic questions. This is my first VW i love it but, past owner’s did not. thank you in advance,
`chad premoi have checked all fuses, test light on all, and none blown either. something could be plugged in wrong but, could not find anything wrong. each plug seemed to go in its correct spot and the two on back of cluster wont mismatch at all so i know are plugged in correctly despite the 20 minutes trying to make it plug in. checked prongs on the plug/harness itself they all good not bent at all. the relays, are a bit harder for me. i bought a book for my car but to no avail, does not show relay position what soever. i looked online and combed through junk cars at salvage yard in hopes i had misplaced a relay in the wrong slot but could not find anything due to them all being different. same year just different make and model. not a single junk trek edition around this area. so relay could be the culprit but no one seems to know where to find the actual diagram of the relays.
thanks for the reply, hope this info can help. appreciate it.
