Open your radiator bleeder valve on block to see if air or fluid comes out.
Every time I fill the radiator, I always open bleed valve to allow air to escape, then when fluid bleeds out- shut valve and continue to fill radiator. No problems with air in the system after that.
September 9, 2016 at 7:36 pm in reply to: P0420: bad pre-cat or the main catalytic converter #867788I had this P0420 code, and I removed the CAT to inspect the sub-strait, then I back flushed the CAT with degreaser, you can soak it in soapy water over night too, followed by back flushing with water. Reinstalled the CAT with no codes. Started using Shell gas too!
Is the ECU for that model? Ask dealership if it needs to be undated too.

Do you know if car was in an accident or was submerged in water? Sounds like an electrical problem.

I guess you have no codes? Check spark plugs. If the accelerator pedal is drive-by-wire, might want to investigate also.

Check your owner’s manual for this. Possibly some relays or fuses have been compromised. Make sure your battery and connection are sound.

After you check your battery cables for tightness, put a volt meter across your battery terminals. Check for 12volts, then leaving the meter connected start the car and watch the meter checking for a voltage drop of no more than 9 volts.
