When a car cranks and won’t start there are three things you should check: air, fuel, and spark. Is air getting to the engine? Could be the idle air controller. Is it fuel? Could be several things check fuel pressure, check injectors (noid light). Could it be spark? Use a spark ignition tester you can buy it relatively cheap. This is just to get you started but will the process will involve some detective work. Good Luck!!

I have never worked on a hybrid vehicle. But I suppose the most important thing like you mentioned was to make sure you do not get electrocuted in the process. I would not recommend doing this without the proper information or guidance.

I haven’t worked on OBDI Fords in a while. But if I remember correctly the connection can be found under the hood.

Personally I do not use any additives for any of the fluids in my car, and far as I am concerned there are no benefits. Open up the throttle plate and look to see if you notice any build up which can be cleaned with throttle body cleaner.

You did not specify the age, model, or what parts but I purchase OEM online parts from:

              H and A Honda: http://www.handa-accessories.com/honda.html

              or

              College Hills Honda: http://www.collegehillshonda.com/genuine_honda_parts_catalog.htm

Both have reasonable prices in my opinion.

Like the other poster mentioned Rock Auto is also wonderful for aftermarket parts, but for Honda I stick with Honda parts again based on age and budget.

Ok that gives me more information. You can use NGK or Nippon Denso Spark Plugs on your Honda, there is simply no need to buy from the dealer any auto parts store will do. DO NOT ever use Bosch Spark Plugs as they are crap!!! The plug wires you should use Honda only unless you want a fire. Use some antiseize on the plug threads and dielectric grease on the wires, it will make your life easier the next time around. Hope this helps……..

On Edit: I was just looking at the website for kicks. It seems that the spark plug wires and distributor ignition wire are sold separately….BUMMER

I am going to agree with Elfy. I have a friend with a 96 Civic that lives in an apartment complex and works in a public area. That car has been stolen three times and has been recovered everytime, thus the problem with Hondas is that they are prone to theft. I had a an aftermarket system installed by a professional without any problem for several years no theft. This leads me to conclude that this job must be done by a competent person using quality parts…….
