After finally Taking it for its first drive, Come to find out the bike has the dreaded 3rd gear issue, It flies out of 3rd gear when accelerating, but not when decelerating or holding the bike at a steady speed. Now Looking at possibly Scrapping the out for parts, Unless repairing that gear is a simple task witch i really doubt
Ok small update. fuel is now to the fuel rails. but there is no color to the exhaust when trying to start. I am just cranking in 10 second intervals to save the starter, but no luck so far anyone got any idea’s?
the person that i got the truck off of had taken all the fuel out of the truck, so there is litterally air all through the fuel system, because i started it up ran for about 10 seconds hasnt hit any since.
pulled every fuse just to be safe, all of them are not blown, so what is the next step? do I need to look at buying a blinker or has someone had this issue before, and know what it is, or how to fix it?
thanks BigDanIL279, and well Now Ive got another issue that just popped up. My turn signals and flashers stopped working on the mustang today, looked in the owners manual for a fuse or relay location and couldn’t find one. I do not think it is the switch or a bad ground mostly because high beams and windshield washer/speed selector is working fine. Has anyone had this issue before, or know where said relay would be on this car?
looking into this there really is no perfect gear where I live “Tennessee” the constant up and down I guess I will just sick to 4th and ride 5th when I hit flat ground. torque curve and optimal shifting area looks to be 2k-3k for fuel eco and 1.5k RPM for constant operation but, as i said 2.1k and 900 to 1k I guess I should have did more research on the car before buying it in my area. another option is a gearing switch in the rear, but I don’t have the money for that right now. thanks for the info!
This has worked for me sometimes, but its been on American made cars and trucks. might sound err… strange I guess you could say but on the side of the road or just anything like that I have taken my steel toed boot to the bottom of the gas tank and it has got the pump running long enough to get it home. balled up fist or anything same trick works on starters. Number one way to know if your fuel pump is working, get someone to turn the key on while you have your head near the gas tank. you should hear a buzz, if not its not working. but if your car is nice don’t kick the fuel tank, only do it on cars that you don’t have lots of money in to. Also if you can hear the fuel pump but no fuel comes out or pressure it is probably a stopped up fuel lie or filter
