When I saw the vid on Are You a Tire Junkie, I felt instant recognition. I love tyres – the smell, the tread patterns etc etc and I like buying new tyres. I was thinking about how this “problem” started and I put it back to 1970 when I had a second hand Ford Cortina. It had the old cross ply tyres and when these wore down I replaced the whole set with radials. The transformation was spectacular and I have been interested in tyres ever since. Looking at cars and the tyres they’ve got on them is something I do all the time.
My addiction has many forms. I am actually looking forward to when the front tyres on my Honda Jazz (Fit) wear down so I can replace them. I then obsess about whether to replace all 4 even though the rears have loads of tread. The tyres on the car are stock – Dunlop SP2030s – but they are not the greatest so do I change brands in two steps – fronts and then rear further down the line.
Good to know others are similarly afflicted!
