Well I soaked em for about 2 hours and put them in, the bikes a whole new animal I didn’t realize they were that bad! However my problem is now that the plates seem to stick together and I can’t seem to get the clutch to disengage all the way

Well I ordered a clutch kit because I’m fairly certain they are on there way out.

Yeah I thought that too maybe, but I’m not sure. I’m definitely going to keep the cap and rotor because they are almost brand new.

I checked my plugs wires and cap everything looked good. Except where the rotor screws on to the shaft there was some play that didn’t feel like it should be there. So I replaced the distributor shaft, rotor and cap. So far so good no more smelly exhaust an no more po300 codes. It also seems to have alot better throttle response.

2 things I have always questioned:

1.On the Honda xr650r from about 2000-2007 models have a oil dipstick in the frame just in front of the gas tank however if you don’t have the stick in perfectly with the threads lined up it will cross thread and you end up with a dipstick that looks like a cork screw. I changed the oil in mine today and it took me almost an hour to get it threaded in right! But I love the bike

                          2. Fuel pumps in the gas tank with electricity I’m just curious who decided that would be a good idea to try? I know they have alot more pressure than the old mechanical ones but how would this cross your mind “lets put a cylinder thing in a pool of gas and add electrical current”

If oil was getting past the rings wouldn’t the smoke be a blue tint color?

Well it sounds like a master cylinder to me then, when mine went out sometimes it would work and sometimes not if I pumped it while braking it worked better, I don’t know how he car works I have never been around them but that’s what I would look into.
