Throttle body was cleaned. Bled coolant per ETCG video. I could really stick my boot up Honda’s arse for not including a bleeder valve for coolant. 👿
You understand right…
Does the D16y6 Honda Civic in fact have an EGR valve? If so… is someone would post a picture of the valve and tell me where to find it. Mine is a MT, but I looked for the EGR valve and could not find it. I have also seen several posts saying that the 1999 Honda Civic DX doesn’t have one…
Make sure the inner and outer CV joints were replaced. The noise deadener is right… so check all 4 wheels for play. I used to own a Porsche and changed out CV joints regularly. Are you sure the frame was not bent when it was in the wreck crumpling the rear quarter panel? Definitely go ahead and replace the motor mount. It really bothers me that that coil spring was broken… this can also put undue pressure on the opposite side of the car, involving axels, etc. Your best bet for that axle is to go to the dealer or find that EXACT model to take one off of.
(1) Make sure you do not have your ignition left in the accessory position when you pull the key out (especially some older cars the key will pull out even if the car is in accessory).
(2) Once you follow the other things… check your alternator and alternator belt.
Old timer tip – Put a light coating of Vaseline on your battery posts… This prevents corrosive glup on the terminals. 🙂
Ya.. code cleared. I have also checked for vacuum leaks and have been unable to find anything. I guess this weekend I will start going through the plugs and what not…
This would cause the P0505 code?
So something as simple as spark can cause surging idle? I have a deep seated hatred for all cars post 1985 (last carbs and the beginning of the invasion of the machine). Will check that…
