June 1, 2012 at 11:00 am in reply to: 2002 Ford ZX2 needs a new transmission. But I need to know w #438493Alright so heres the latest update on my ZX2 issues. You all were right the Clutch master and slave both went out at the same time that night. Also about a week ago the transmission finally quit. The third gear synchro exploded and at the time I didnt know it and I went to down shift and sent the scraps of the sychro flying through the trans thus causing a complete trans lock up in second gear from 35 mph. My engine is fine but the the trans is fried. Turns out im having to a put a used one in. And heres the sucky part is that its taking almost 2 weeks to do this.

Last night while driving the car around (yes it still drove till last night) the clutch got real dang spungy and went to the floor. I pumped it a few times got pressure back and then it went out again. So I had it towed to my mechanic cause I deemed it unsafe to drive…. So now it sounds like im looking at way more than just a transmission.

I know it sounds crazy but I know honda does make a great product and if there is some sort of kit to make it work that would be awesome!
April 16, 2012 at 11:00 am in reply to: 2002 Ford ZX2 needs a new transmission. But I need to know w #438491Well see I cant find any parts for the G5M. The synchros are no longer carried by ford/mazda. However when my mechanic looked at my car he told me that what happened last night was due to a Clutch Master Cylinder/Slave clyinder failer. And noted on the honda deal. Im just worried that if I have to throw another G5M in that car that itll bite me again in another 130k.
