It’s pretty good just make sure you Lubricate daily because the trigger actually gets lubed that way and if you don’t lube it that shit will stick. I do a lot of front end work on landscaping trucks with it and only rarely will it not break things loose. F-350, 3500’s things of that nature.

I’ve used the clamshell type spring compressors before and for the applications that it fits on the springs they work well. The only issue I’ve found is they sometimes can’t grab certain spring sizes. Other then that for the money if it suits your application its a damn good tool for the money in my opinion.

Obviously doing engine work its crucial to torque everything to the right spec and in the proper order. Also if I have a trans out and replacing a clutch, flywheel, pressure place, etc, I’m torquing it. Rather do it right then have to take it apart again because that isn’t saving any time. Axle nuts are important to torque as well. If you over tighten the nut you can cause premature failure. Taking the extra couple minutes to torque something to spec could save you from doing the job again.
I agree with JS if valve covers are leaking tightening the bolts up won’t really fix it same with oil and trans pans. Just delaying the inevitable.

December 12, 2013 at 4:40 am in reply to: Taking money from Techs check to pay for mistakes? #568472I have the pleasure of working on very rusty plow trucks for several landscape company’s at my job. They never want to come apart for half the work we do on them. They get charged accordingly. If you want to beat the crap out of your truck to make money your going to pay to get it fixed. Not my fault everything is rusted and seized.
Also unless its a frequent customer how are you suppose to be responsible for job the last place that worked on it messed up and botched? Too much liability can be placed on a tech for something that might not have been their fault in the first place.

Snap on Butane Soldering Iron #YAKS22A. Works nice in tight places or in a parking lot when you can’t plug in a regular soldering gun.
Also got a good deal on a Snap On Master Ball Joint/Universal Joint Press #BJP1. Usually around 700 bucks got it for 550.
