I respect 2 things the most about you Eric: #1 is your unwillingness to settle for “good enough” work. For example: I never knew to bleed the brakes after changing the brake fluid. #2 is the fact that you are an ASE certified Acura mechanic because those machines are tough as nails to work on.

I’ve only been watching your videos for a month now and yet you have become the only youtuber I trust to tell me how to fix something. Keep up the outstanding work and I LOVE THE FAIRMONT VIDEOS!

I love how some people have nothing better to do than bad-mouth other people’s cars on the internet without provocation. If you are truly as old as your bio says you are then I suggest you take some college courses on how to be an adult. Thanks for posting.

That makes sense. Perhaps I should clean everything up a little bit and put the egr valve in some carb cleaner overnight.
Those new plugs probably cost more than what a 25 year old Cavalier is worth.

When it comes to working on easy stuff, you can’t beat a 2 wheel-drive 1/2 ton from the 60s or 70s. There’s enough room under the hood to live there.
I would also hope those spark plugs didn’t cost me more than the car is worth considering they were $4 a piece at Advance and my cavalier has 72k miles. Hardly a crapalier don’t you think?

Also age of a car isn’t the biggest factor for me. More and more I’m starting to see ancient ass cars running like butter. Maybe they are tough or maybe their owners took great care of them but I don’t plan on buying any new cars anytime soon.

Yeah. I’m not the best at moving my hands in unnatural positions just to get to my oil filter. One of my friends had a Ranger with a filter like that and it seemed impossible to get to without disconnecting a bunch of wires and hoses.

Haha! Imagine replacing spark plugs without them. I would lose faith in the automotive industry.

Sweet! Its embarrasing how long I had to look for the damn thing.

I still can’t find it. Is it possible for it to be under the engine? I’ve never seen one under the engine…

When I first saw this I thought it could be a bad egr valve. It would be hard to detect unless you have a cpu in the car for a diagnostic machine. My 02 Ford Focus had a bad egr valve and it would shut off and there would be a rough idle as well as major power loss.

There’s nothing wrong with the car really, sorry for the confusing wording. I just wanted to increase the acceleration so that it could compete with today’s machines. I also don’t know of any excess weight I could pull from my car since the only stuff in there are my tools and stuff in the glove box. Are there any other solutions?
