Thanks for your suggestions. One thing at a time makes more sense. I’ll will do the thermostat and heater core flush first and then let you know if that fixed the problem.
I finaly got my transmission fixed although the ratlle didn’t go away. I notised that I can reproduce it by shifting to the Reverse. Every time when I do that, the car jerks and rattles even stronger that when I ignite/shut down the engine. I don’t even know what to think now… 🙁 In 10 days I will go back to the Transmission shop for a quick check and will talk about this problem, I guess I really do need help of a proffesional.

So I found oil/power steering leak that I had for a long time. It is right behind the power steering pump and it appears to be lighter than engine oil and looks more like power steering fluid which I flushed about a week ago which is now yellowish color compare to brownish engine oil. Yesterday I dumped the hole little bottle of UV dye into the engine and today when I put UV light on that leak it appears green. Could it be true that this is a mix of engine oil and PS fluid? Also whenever engine is hot, it smells like something is melting when I get under the hood. I think that I found that one too, it’s also right behind the PS pump.
Another leak is right at the bottom of the engine where it comes together with transmission, and it looks like oil and also green under UV light. Btw, are they going to replace the gasket between engine and trany during the instalation of a new trany? And where do you guys think the leak behind the steering pump coming from? Any ideas before I dismount the pump?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afG2vwnu70w&feature=youtu.be

Once it’s done I will post if the noise would go away.Fixed an alternator, the noise is still there. I strongly suspect that it has to do with transmission. Going to get it replaced in a week or two.

You’re probably aware, the alternator can be tested off the car at an automotive parts store like Autozone. I’d have that tested first. The dashboard symptoms mentioned earlier sounds like an alternator, battery or bad electrical connection. Good luck…
Funny, this thread is now way off topic lol 😆 however I promise to post when the noise will be gone.
Anyhow, I just wander if it would be better to install alternator after transmission is replaced. On the other hand I need to get to the shop, where they would replace a trany. So I guess I would have to do alternator first

Not sure if I should do transmission first or the alternator…
I have an idea…Perhaps you could take a floor jack with a block of wood and slightly support the weight of the engine under the oil pan. The idea would be to take some of the weight off the mounts. Again, just a slight amount. See if the sound goes away or diminishes. If so, then you could likely rule out the transmission as being the problem. Hopefully, it’s something simple.
I actually really like the idea with a jack, I could try it out tomorrow but you won’t believe what happened! I desided to go for a short ride so the car won’t just sit there, and all of the sudden all dashbord lights and head lights went very dim, then the battery indicator came up and then a bunch of them (forgot which ones exactly)… This car just falling apart… lol
My suspection is that alternator went bad and since the car was sitting for so long the battery just died… Now I can’t start the car!!! There is a noise of starter when I try to ignite, but it doesn’t start
You’ve received some great advice from Eric, Wysetech and College Man already. One other consideration….worn engine mounts? If mounts are badly worn, it might show up right at start up/ shut down when had engine rocks back and forth. Sounds like a metal to metal type vibration to me.
Thanks for the reply!
I had 2 bad engine mounts, it felt like engine moves separetly from the body 😆 and it was clancking badly when I was taking off from dead stop. I replaced rear and side engine mounts and problem was solved, the front one looked good to me and untill now I had no issues with it. However, as I said earlier, the transmission mounts could be worn, but I have to find their location first 🙂
You’ve received some great advice from Eric, Wysetech and College Man already.
