      could be your charcoal canister is soaked especially if you got into the habit of topping off the tank.
      The canister captures gas fumes and does have a purge valve on it.
      This can sometimes not set a code.

              you do get condensation out the tailpipe on all cars,some after idling will have quite a bit of water coming out the tailpipe.
              Head gasket failure can have quite different symptoms depending on where the gasket failed.
              Try this link good info on head gaskets..

                  I agree I have 15 fords in the fleet and several have had cam phaser noise,we run mostly highway miles and change the oil at 5k,some made the noise from about 10k miles then after a while the noise went away, other units never made the noise at all.

                      does this truck have the sensor on the rear diff on the top?
                      some fords reference that for the speedo.

                              some of the 4.0 engines had loud piston slap,mine did it from brand new.
                              I have seen some of the 4.0 engines make the noise up to the 200k mile mark.

                                  I have hired guys that were really good on the book side but couldn’t make it translate to the real shop world,I have hired guys that did really poorly on the book side but have tremendous mechanical ability.
                                  If you dont have a natural ability for mechanics no amount of book time will help you.
