          Thanks again Eric,

One more question if I can related to the last point. I’m just not clear on the oil issue. If you evacuate and put a vacuum on the A/C system, does it also remove the oil from the system so that when you recharge you have to add the oil back into the system? If yes do you have to add the full amount for the system?

              Thanks Eric for both replies.

I have just a couple of related questions to the last reply. In your video you state that unless you replace a system component e.g. compressor, there is no need to add oil, and that the service manual will detail how much oil to add for the replaced component. First question – if you evacuate all the 134a and create a vacuum with any component replacement, do you not also evacuate all or most of the oil through this process? Second question and the real reason I’m asking, I bought a can of Red Angel A/C Stop Leak & Conditioner. http://www.servicechamp.com/prod_res_docs/NewItems/RedAngel_Service_flyer.pdf

The can contains about 2.4 ounces. The instruction say to spray the full contents into the system and also suggests to reduce the refrigerant load in the system to accommodate. Does this mean I should deduct 2.4 ounces from the 134a weight required by my a/c system?

Thanks Eric and btw – I think the service you provide is fantastic.

              Cheers

                  Hi Eric,

Just joined so please bar with me. Hope I’m in the right forum. I watched your YouTube video on recharging the a/c and also the follow-up video on comments. Have two questions 1) after you created the vacuum you closed the high and low side manifold valves and shut down the pump and let the system sit for 30 min to ensure no leaks (vacuum maintained). In order to determine if a leak is to be determined should you not, after following the steps you detailed, detach the service hose and open the high and low side manifold gauges? Otherwise, how will you know if there is a leak? 2) if adding dye and/or oil, do you have the deduct that weight from the total 134a weight the system requires?

                  Thanks
