Body ground?
April 5, 2018 at 11:08 am in reply to: 2000 Civic crank, no start. looking for specific things to look for… #887450Okay, so I think I might be onto something but 1 vital piece of information I cannot find… where does the G101 ground hook to? Everyone says “The thermostat housing.” I know that. Where on the ECU does it hook up to?
April 5, 2018 at 2:50 am in reply to: 2000 Civic crank, no start. looking for specific things to look for… #887442Update! I was able to go around and do some probing with my meter. I’ve got a no fuel, no spark issue. I can hear the main relay click, but no signs of movement from the fuel pump. Replaced both 15A fuses for the FI and ignition coil. On one side, i get battery voltage at one wire to ground but no pump reaction when plugged in. The no spark was found at the shop where I’d taken it before to get the wheel bearing done, as the mech is a buddy. Is there any common grounding between the fuel pump and the ignition. I read Eric’s post and I don’t really believe that the fuel pump is bad.
Well, seems the timing was advanced too far. Swapped plugs and wires, cleaned the throttle body and MAP sensor, adjusted the timing and she fired right off. Hopefully, the problems is resolved forever now. Thanks college man.
Hey college man. Im going to check the timing marks today, as well as replace plugs and wires with NGK and Denso respectively. I’m also going to swap fuel filters just because and give it a solid once over. I’ll report back with what I find.
Hey Eric! Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family! I Got into your show when I bought my Honda Element, watching your vids for repairs and I’ve been a fan since, especially of Fixing it Forward. Any Tips for buying a mid 90’s Honda? I know you’ve said that they’re among the best cars made and if my Element has carried the tradition, I’d agree. Any things I should look out for specific to Hondas? Also, I’m torn between the tunability of a Civic 5 speed vs the classic coupe look of a Prelude? What say you? Thanks so much for all you do. Stay Dirty my friend!
No OD button…
Is the OD button supposed to be on the shifter? If so, then it doesn’t have one.
