Hello, I want to buy a scanner for DIY porpoises, I was looking at the Innova 3160B and some Actron´s but I can’t decide. My top budget is $200.

The only problem that I got is that I have a Renault, son not many of them have the manufacturers codes.

But either way I’ll probably change it to a Toyota of Mitsubishi in the near future.

      Any ideas?

Yes, I changed the transmission fluid and filter a few months back. I think it was just that they used it in 4WD with high speeds.

Thank you for all the info, keep up the good work!

The shaft seals where bad, and so was the shaft, so we’re fixing that right now. With the turbo rebuilt, ill keep track of the oil consumption more often, but I hope that will be all

This time we’ll be careful with it and let it cool down properly.

As for the 4WD high temp, it was on gravel and muddy mountain roads, so i think thats the point. The thing was that the used it at high speeds i believe.

Thank you so much, You’ve been very helpful.

Hi, further testing resulted in getting the turbo checked, and the intake had oil on it, as well as the intake manifold (that’s what I understood) and the inter-cooler. So maybe the seals are bad, but ill get it fixed in a few weeks.

Also, just another question, a few days ago, a relative used the car with the 4wd engaged, and apparently he was speeding, resulting in the transmission fluid getting too hot and having to stop the car for a while. Is that normal?

                  Thanks

It’s using regular oil. I’ll change the oil and write down the level every 1000km to measure it correctly. That way I’ll see if it goes gradually.

                      Thank you!

Well, i got the bill, thats for sure. I’ll contact them to see if i can have the results and share them here.

As for doing the tests myself, i dont have tools and i dont have the car with me at the moment.

I’ll try to do some measurements myself and share them.

                          Thank you.

I know it didnt needed the overhaul, but its my fathers car abd he got it done, new heads and everything, and the block machined. They did all the tests at the dealers and said that everything was great.

I’m starting to think that my father isnt measuring the oil properly, but he adds oil from time to time and it mantains the level, so it must be going somewhere.
