ive done this before lol but i had to invest alot more money i bought a car for 300 it was a 98 mazda protege 4 banger blown head gasket i went to lkq and they gave me a engine and automatic transmission for the car for 400 bucks a buddy of mine who works at a local auto shop removed the old engine and trans and did the cv axles and engine and trans all at once charged me about 850 total when i got it back it ran and drove had heat and ac and i sold it for 2500 minus the 300 for the car 400 for the new engine and trans 850 for labor and i might have had like another 150 bucks in random parts but i pretty much doubled my money and i drove that car around for awhile before i put on on craigslist to sell it it was a cool flip i want to do it again but i dont have the extra money right now for a car or parts and labor

ive used the bleed screw on top of the upper hose and ive done it the old fashioned way by removing the radiator cap and squeezing the radiator hose to remove air im fairly confident that theres no air in my system also the coolant elbow as common problem on this engine isnt damaged or leaking in anyway that i can see it appears to be brand new

thats the weird part i did bleed it it was doing this before i did all the work but i opened the bleeder screw and ran the motor till all the air bubblled out

also if this helps anybody i have flushed my heater core with water about 4 times now and everytime i drive my car it eventually seems to clog back up and my heat stops working and i have to flush it out and i keep getting nasty dex cool remains

i redid the pump this time i opted for the steel gasket from autozone it went back together great and dosent leak with the ghrapite gasket i got with the pump i didnt notice there are guide pins for the pump on the engine side and i didnt use them and thats why it rolled i put the gasket on the pump first and tried to do it the hard way lol

the problem was a clogged heater core i flushed it and it works great but the problem was also a bad thermostat mine was broken and wasnt allowing coolant to flow at maximum output into the engine also had a bad water pump

haha my idea for this was to fix the ac then rip out the seats for after market bolt in race seats thats just because its cheaper lol but yea i dont think i want to pay 1200

i might buy it to get it fixed but i want to be sure that this is even a possible sittuation before i go out and spend 900 bucks on a broken car because i dont want to or can afford to sink alot of money into a car to fix it
