Anytime you ADD air or fuel to the engine by any means it will gain hp. Depending on what you do it might not be enough HP for you t notice, but it will gain. Anyone that knows how engines work will agree. If you put a cold air in, make sure you put it low enough that it will actually get some cold air, Most people i find just slap a cold air on and leave it level with the engine and dont bother trying to seperate it from the engine. if you put a cold air in and leave it at level or above the engine, it becomes HOT air intake which then wont make any HP.. If you make it in a box by its self, and or lower where it can get more cold air, then you will gain HP. I’ve seen this mistake a million times, then ppl come and say well why isnt my cold air intake working.

my opinion is go for a independent garage. With it being a Independent garage you get to work on everything. at a dealer shop 98% is that shop vehicle only i.e dodge, ford, honda, mazda etc

@celticbhoy thank you, you are correct i forgot about that. the 4.7 has individual coils on each spark plug. You can either check each coil or like Celtic said and check the CPS

well for not having any spark at the plugs, im not sure why you would change the oil pan and intake. they have nothing to do with spark.. If your not getting any spark at the plugs, test for spark from the spark plug wires, if you dont have a tester, put a long screw driver in the end of the wire and hold it against something metal, ( leave the end plugged into the distrubitor) turn the key. If you get no spark, check and make sure you have the disty plugged in right, if everything turns out that its hooked up proper, then chances are you need a new disty.

for a K&N cold air intake, you can either go to a place that sells their products, and buy a complete kit, air filter, piping, etc. or you can make your own pipe, go to Canadian tire and by a K&N filter for $40. are you doing anything else other then “bigger pistons”
