Thanks Eric! After reading your reply I followed your advice and replaced the blower control module, she blows air like a dream now! After all this time of dealing with a fan constantly on low now she blows however much air you want her to. Thanks for the quick reply and the solid advice guys, it means a lot.
Sincerely,
MikeI think you might have an issue with your battery. I had an experience with a ’99 Yukon that would do this exact same thing, but when I replaced the alternator and crappy OEM battery with a better one, it solved the problem. If a battery doesn’t solve your issue, i would look into replacing your ECM, as sometimes faulty ones can cause this problem.

Tomorrow I will look into the location of the sending unit and tracking down a replacement one. Thanks again for your help!

Indeed i did say it was okay initially, but it had been showing lower than usual, but nothing alarming. Now i see a direct link to the oil pressure gauge going to 0 and the dinging noise occurring. I think you’re right in that it’s my oil pressure sending unit, because if the gauge was bad, the computer wouldn’t be sensing low oil pressure and making the dinging noise correct?

Thanks for your guys’ suggestions, but i’m pretty sure it has to do with my oil pressure gauge. The Gauge is showing 0 oil pressure, and im pretty sure that’s false because the car runs just as well as it always has and has plenty of oil. Say of the oil pressure -was- low, wouldn’t i experience loss of performance and engine failure? Let me know what you guys think.

-MikeTurns out I was completely wrong about it being the front brakes, upon closer inspection by myself i came to the conclusion that it was an issue with one of the rear drums. When I would come to a stop they would make a grinding noise which sounded like the front discs and continue to squeak as previously mentioned. Turns out it was just an issue with one of the springs in the drum. Thanks again for all the help and suggestions, it is always much appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. It’s kind of odd because it comes intermittently and doesn’t usually occur when i first start driving the car in the mornings, it typically comes around more when I’ve been driving it for awhile THEN it begins to make the slight chirping sound, and sounds like a winding-down phonograph as i come to a stop. Thanks again for all of the suggestions.

Compressor? #442792Just wanted to let you guys know that I got my car back today. My mechanic (which also happens to be a good friend of mine) told me that it was indeed the compressor and that when it malfunctioned it got a bunch of small metal pieces within the a/c lines. Said it was pretty gnarly to get out of there but he succeeded. Now I have a brand new compressor and my air is blowing cold as ever. He said that everything should be fine and if it begins to not get cold again, he said bring it back to him because there might be some leaks in the lines. Anyway, I’m happy and glad that it’s repaired (even though it came out to be just a little over $800) (ouch)

Compressor? #442789Upon further inspection before taking it to my mechanic this morning I saw that the compressor does not move freely all the time. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. I’m pretty sure that the compressor itself threw a bearing which resulted in the belt grinding around the compressor “wheel” (whatever you want to call it) which resulted in it burning and creating that burnt smell. I’m just glad no damage was done to my engine as it looks like the belt tweaked the compressor a bit causing it to lean a little. Anyway, I dropped it off at my mechanic this morning and it should be repaired within the next day or two. I will post here when the repair is completed to let you guys know. Thanks again!
