Ah yes.. I hadn’t seen that video. Interesting! I have a particular interest in spring compressors as I’ve built a couple for dealing with the mainsprings in air-rifles … I cracked a rib getting one out without one so I have respect for big springs! Best wishes, Alistair
Ah, I can see you are WAY ahead of my thinking … also I forgot EricTheCarGuysDadsTruck project … It’s very wise not to spread one’s self too thin and hopefully ETCG will be around for years to come so the zero emissions device will surely happen at some point. Best wishes, Alistair
I guess so, but it seems weird they would not add in a couple of $2 springs just for ‘completeness’. The maintenance tensioning routine is in the manual, but doesn’t say when it needs to be done – maybe never?
Did the job, took 14 hours but that included cleaning a bunch of gunk off the engine where the pump face fits, going over alot of rusted fasteners with a die to clean them, torquing everything to spec, adjusting the drive belts and bleeding the coolant system. Thanks for the encouragement.
Yes, been thinking, there isn’t really a way round it. I will have to do it or spend the money and get it done professionally. Thanks.
