Can’t wait! Always a fun time and have made a few friends over the past 2 years that it will be good to see again.
I am staying at the Kirkwood inn which is about 2 miles from Eric’s place. Don’t know if rooms are still available but a decent place to stay.

I got a job as an auto mechanic at my place of work without formal schooling. I got most of my training by working on my own stuff (including household appliances, home wiring, welding, computers etc). Here at home I have backhoes, skid steer loader, farm tractors, trucks, cars, trailers and motorcycles which I do almost all the work on myself. At work I work on cars, trucks, fork trucks, cranes, electric golf carts,a shuttle wagon, snow plows, salt spreaders, hi reaches, fire trucks and well, anything that has wheels and moves within the plant. I am the only mechanic to take care of over 40 pieces of rolling stock. When it is an involved job I have outside vendors come to do the work, i.e big generators. Also for new vehicle diagnostics they go back to the dealer. The reason it is done this way is they are under warranty so they go back to the dealership and the company I work for doesn’t give continuing training so it is very hard to keep up with all the new technology. Even though I didn’t have any formal schooling I wish I did. I feel I would know more of the real basics. Don’t get me wrong I know how stuff works and this is why I got the job, but a lot of it I do by reading the manual and going from there. Some leassons doing it this way has been learned the hard way. So for me I wish I would’ve had school and gotten ASE certification but at 51 yrs old I no longer feel a need for either.
