Thanks for the responses, my next question is I do not have a press (i dont have the money or space right now for a HF press), and this is a slight budget build. So, do I need to put in new wrist pins? Also how do I know if I do need wrist pins i.e looseness, stiffness…any help will do. Thanks.

Thanks, but I found a complete z1 swap, plus a ton of other goods for 125$. The only thing that the mileage is unknown, besides all seals and gaskets. water pump, oil pump and sending the head out what else should i do to it?

I turn the key on two just fine and shifts just fine. I checked all things mentioned and those are fine. Its after a while of driving it idles high in neutral and in park. Once in park it won’t shift out. But this is after a while of driving, maybe its the ecu?

I would use that p28, but I would be worried that the maps for engine management would not be optimal for MPG gains. I think maybe i should try and find a USDM d15z1, bolt up my z6 auto tranny and use my p07-901, the z6 tranny is coded m24, but if push comes to shove I have the p28. My worry would be the o2 sensor management, I would still think I would get better MPG then a b7 even without optimal fuel a management. I currently get 37mpg with a terrible d15b7, which I will post about later on.
i would use a P28 auto unless the motor your getting is a 2/3 stage VTEC. Either way i would just chip it and be done with it. Don’t forget the P07 will use a wide-band O2 sensor too.

does it come with the ecu?
That one does not, but when I have seen some with ecu its the p84-901 auto ecu. Now if I have a p07-901 VX ecu would it shift it no problem? I would tend to guess that both the p84 and p07 auto ecus are for the same engine that I should have no issues, but I am not sure.
PS
There is one for sale with ECU for about 300$ more, so you see where I would save if I could find some answers.lol.
does it come with the ecu?
I want to say I should buy the A/T Vx set up and hope for the best…lol. Im a green horn when it comes to re chipping and burning and ECU this and that so, for now I’m hoping for plug and play.
If its a USDM ECU like i think it is, then just chip it to whatever program you need it to be to fit your motor you can run the stock programs on any chip on tha ECU and then if you ever decide to upgrade to a better motor (b16 lol and yes they have an auto for them) then re-burn the program and go from there!
I though the same about the shape of the ECU which leads me to believe it may be another designation like EDM, since here in the states no A/T Vx were released. When I look up the s4pa A/T it seems to come up only in 96 and up cars, but the set ups are OBD1 92-95, which is really confusing. I would just buy the ECU’less set up and try my ECU, but what an expensive experiment that would be if it did not work…lol.
There is a multitude of transmission and engine combos that they used. It is possible they were 4 speeds but i am not an expert on JDM auto trannies, seeing most people just pull them out and swpa them over. It really looks like in the pictures is a USDM ECU for the JDM ECU’s are square.
