Also, there might be some air in the system, which then you would have to flush it. Depending on how many miles you have on the car, it might not be a bad idea to replace the p/s pump if its never been done before.

usually the whining is from a failing pump. could be something minor though.

The first thing I do is change the oil. Ive never had a new car off the lot, so I dont know how long its been since the oil was changed. Make sure your buying the correct oil for it!

Plus its like a new bonding experience with the car. 🙂
