A trick i have used to remove corrosion on batt terminals is to fill an empty dish detergent container with pipein hot water then with the detergent cap opened squeeze the bottle giving the hot water a pressurized stream this will clean off all that greeness on you re batterry terminals then good idea to coat them with anything that will cut out the oxygen to recorrode you terminals

yes yellow connector under driver seat it has 2 wires on it and there should be a purple or grey shorting bar that you pull back to disconect the conector a trick to get under the seat is to remove the two philips or 2 torx t 15 or t 20 screws on the seat track hiding covers oh and there are little round plugs on the back of them when the seat is all forward, then slide seat all the way back and there will be a allen key with a 10 mm nut take that bolt off from the end of the middle of the seat track and then lift on seat adjuster lever and slide the seat past back then you will be able to gently tilt the seat bact towards the passenger rear seat then will be able to see the conector better usually cliped under seat. now knowthat this will disable you air bag but lave the light on in the cluster hopefully that helps you onhow to disable airbag system so they wont deploy in event of an accident but you should not tamper with safety system of you re vehicle

Hello wonderful pepole of Eric the car guy I am a Mechanic with Volkswagen specialities I worked for a vw specialized repair Garage for 13 years until I got fed up with the constant bull about the flat rate system and other various bull things i have encountered over the years. I have made the jump to elevator constructor and love the job but I am a gear head at heart still and when I get some spare time I find myself wrenching on something of the car nature. I have come accross the Eric the car guy web site on you tube and was really interested on how honest he was and I felt like finally someone saying the truth about the automotive industry all its ups and downs anyhow keep up the good work and I will try to respond to Vee dub questions that pop up on youre forums

Hello I have a Beetle myself and once worked at a vw dealership i think if you are just wanting to remove the air bag fuse it will also cut out some other accesories I will have to check with the shop manual to make shure. I will let you know I really dont recomend dissabeling the air bags for they are part of the suplementry restraint system the only reason you are allowed to dissable the air bag is when you are notaller to 4 feet 5 inches. I will get back to you whane I get the chance. another way to cheat the airbag system is to disconect the yellow conector under the drivers seat. be carefull to hold the shorting tab as you disconnect as you could trip the airbag if not properly done
