Thank you for the feedback college man.

But I’m not sure if that’s the problem.

I get a weird noise at when I go 10 mph and when I reach 45 mph. It’s kind of a squeak noise. I took it to the Mazda dealership for a quick question and I showed the video. The service manager thinks it’s a brake pump issue. When this noise shows up (you can hear the weird noise in the first few seconds on the video) and I hit the brakes the car is jerky.

When I pulled over the first time when I hear this noise the shifting is fine between reverse, drive and the rest. Only in park is when I have issues.

Almost forgot to mention after the noise goes away. The traction control symbol lights up in my gauge. I can’t turn it off until the engine is off. I do have a traction control button near my cigarette lighter. So I can turn it on off or on anytime. The traction control feature is always off when this weird issue happens with my vehicle.

Yeah I’m going to have it looked at by an honest mechanic/owner I met. He gave me a good price to do a full diagnostic on the coolant. I’ll update my post after he does the diagnostic.

              Radiator is around $40-50

T-stat sounds like around a 30 min job for rookie

Be well. Don’t dream. Make sure, YOUR son will not be posting this here:

I wish my stepdad or someone else taught me more about cars growing up. Oh well. Oh well something I look forward to is my son and I working on the car.
Don’t worry. I will make sure my son learns on how to fix his own cars. It’s very valuable to know.

I appreciate the video links. But both are for the 3.0 OHV Vulcan engines. Mine is the 3.0 V6 DOHC Duratec engine.

I will search for my type of engine on Youtube.
The price could be about right for a total, by the book rebuild on the transmission.

What I don’t like is that bit about not having a clean, legible copy of the repair order showing what is what.
That flat stinks and is pathetically inexcuseable.

A transmission should be kept near surgical room clean during a rebuild and those guys can’t even keep a copy of the repair order clean? Ridiculous.
It is ridiculous!!! My wife was with me at the time and she is a witness to what the manager said. He even showed me a blank work order form. He told me they list the details of the job here. He did try looking for my vehicle’s information in the back storage area and in the file cabinets. He couldn’t find anything on my vehicle besides the invoice.

All I wanted was a document stating what parts they replaced and the repairs done on my vehicle’s transmission. That’s it. If I will spend that kind of money on my vehicle I feel I have the right to know what was done to my car in detail. My wife and I don’t make that much money. I’m a warehouse worker and she is a childcare teacher. Both college students as well. So a $3,000 bill a very BIG deal to us. I’m glad we had that kind of money saved up though.

My plan is to call around different transmission shops to see what they would charge me on my 2008 Mazda Tribute. Also will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Not sure if that will do me any good though.

and you will get lots of hits. The 2.3 in your Tribute is also one of the engines in the 3. And Mazda 3 owners love to take their cars apart!

                      Example:

Are you sure? I went to that forum that you posted. Nothing. I went on Youtube to find videos on step by step instructions for intake manifold removal. Nothing again. It just shows engine problems, noises, people showing the results of Seafoam.

I’m still on the search though. I hope I find something soon. I really have to get it done soon.
