I like to keep my vehicles well maintained tp avoid these issues as well, that being said some of the stupid things i do keep in my vehicle have saved my butt on occasion. Right now i live in northern big winter area where you sometimes end up on way out of the way country roads. My list is quite large and theres a reason i have every item in my box. At one point or another ive either used it or have needed it. Most used items include multiple tow straps large multi ton ones. I have ratcheting straps as well but those are only for cargo hold down. I have a large long tow chain grade 9 truckers quality. With that i have a couple different linchpin/ clevis pins for hooking onto different areas of a car without damaging it. Winters here can get bad and i spend a lot of time pulling and towing cars out ditches and the like. I keep 2 sets of jump cables in the truck. One really good heavy guage set and a cheapy backup. I keep 2 gallons of antifreeze as well as oil ans trans fluid and a small funnel. A small shovel because snow sometimes mean digging lol even in a 4×4. A pack of zip ties for emergency repairs. I keep a relatively full socket set in the truck as well. Now i do on occasion go to peoples homes to do work and they come in handy then as well and i just sort of kept in the habit of keeping it in the vehicle. That being said theres also a small floor jack as well as a backup bottle jack in the box. I keep a small survival pack.in the vehicle as well because of the extreme conditions we sometimes see here which has a small handaxe a folding limbsaw multitool flashlight water proof match a small tarp for shelter a good heavy blanket. I do also keep a spare serpentine belt as well as some repair tape (for leaking coolant hoses or whatever comes up) im sure theres other odds and ends but those are the bigger more useful things
