So I know that I have at least one coil that produces 20kv…

My first thought is to use that same coil and interchange it between the other 7 connectors, if they all give me the same the wiring is good, right?

Where I see the problem being is if 1 or more, don’t, if that is the case where would I splice into the harness, in general as I understand each vehicle is different.

Where in the service service manual do u think I should look to find the desired voltage output for the coil packs?

Eric thought that it shouldn’t be below 40kv, but he didn’t know specifically for this vehicle. I was unable to get any to spark to 40kv I was able to get all to 10kv, and one to 20kv.

I will try the other 7 to see if I can get 20kv, but I thought it would be much more simple if I knew what voltage I should actually expect to have.

I have tested with spark tester I know what voltage I am getting,

what I don’t know is what voltage I should be getting

Sorry it took so long to reply Bryan.
I am certain that it is not a leaking heater core base on the fact that at times there was enough water to make a large puddle which was clear water no coolant. Many years ago I had a vehicle with a bad heater core and besides the smell the car began to run hot but by using the vent turned to hot and on full blast I was able to travel to and from work for awhile without overheating until I could get it fixed. I am not sure if the running hot is a normal symptom of a heater core going bad… just remembered that car after your post thanks for checking on the situation

And as I said in a previous post I believe the problem is solved, I used silicone around the rubber gasket at the firewall where I found a small leak, tiny, after shooting water with much pressure up till now no water in the floor board

What I meant was if the jar doesn’t fill up very quickly or not at all, then how would I go about diagnosing the problem from there.

“some of the older fuel pumps were driven by a special lobe on the camshaft which works a pump lever up and down to pump gas.”

Maybe a better way to put it would be, if there are no obstructions in the fuel lines and the pump is not pumping well enough or not at all, how would I go about determining why it was not pumping enough or at all?
