      hello,

my name is kevin , i am 35 years old and have been with automotive around 12 years, i started working at bodyshop and started see need to learn about cars to keep my own vehicle going…belive it or not…hahahha.92 honda accord was my first car i ever had…i remember one night engine flash at midnight about 30 mins away from my house…
basically had crush course on automotive and find interest in fixing vehicles.
I am a canuck technician…i had been working at dealerships, specialist indy shops, general indy shop…mostly european and asian imports are my kind of forte…i had worked at domestic dealer and such..i don’t mind working on them…
once you are so used to certain of things are done,,,it’s so hard to start over..

i even tried HD shop for short time…i am not sure if it’s for me or not…they seem to need way more tools and equipment than auto techs…even to move big wheels around and installed in place…procedure and tools to help you work better..
i am thankful to return to light and med duty…

keep working and finding out more about ourselves everyday…

keep motive power equipment going , right.

i guess people really haven’t used it extensively…
for example, if you power up blower motor fan and motor had a dead spot, speaker would whine or buzz as you powering up…or even over amperage draw from those motor pop circuit breaker…another nice feature…
sort of get rid of guess work out of it…if you have scope attached to it…even better..

i had seen up close that probe/scope…at one parts store…store employee said, even though they have it in store but, if
they decided to stop ordering them then, i would have get warranty through manufacture…nice.

power probe3 is work nicely.i am a professional technician…i use it more often than my mulitimeter.
getting lazy to grab my multimeter

ok. my current GM was nice to me in the beginning by the way, old school heavy duty tech…he must be having second thought or something. find a cheaper tech…too bad…good luck with them since they had 4 techs in two years.

i am the only tech in my shop and i have to put up with shop with no equipment…only napa tranny jack with smallest platform….no room for bringing second vehicle to do repair with hoist…not a chance.
keep hearing bs from my GM with no backbone and no real value to me….especially when it’s suppose to be a dealership…pay is decent but, it’s not worth getting hurt from not having proper equipment…

i thought i was going to stay long term in this company but, didn’t expect such a backstabbing from GM.

hmm..i had worked with vw…at dealer and indy shops…vr6 ..hmm transmission fluid alone has so many different on their vehicles…i would be very sure before you change fluid over…you would get proper vw parts person to get you proper transmission fluid for your gear box…they are most interesting vehicle to work on….keep testing your skills daily

it would be handy to vw factory manual to make sure of things..mininum mitchell in hand.

i would say that using otc hub tamer would be best bet or vw shop with in car bearing pressing tool would help out.

yes, they are a little annoying to get to.

i guess it’s really debatable…it’s depends on how tight of qurter you are working at…

i had done european and asian imports…you have to have best of best to work without fighting with your own tools..

everything is life time warranty…it’s whatever feels best for you and how much it save you from getting tired from working with them day in day out…

anything diagnostic stuff..i had compared otc scope vs vantage pro…used old school vantage…

do you rather guess or really use quality equipment to help you figure things out properly?

i am guessing you guys don’t do much diagnostic…i don’t know.
