I am still old school and I think 5000 kms is time to dump before the oil becomes too acidic.
Unfortunately, my Honda also has this useless feature. It appears to be odometer based, and doesn’t have anything to do with the oil itself. And to make matters worse, the mileage to oil change, is way up there at five to six thousand, maybe more. Although the car calls for conventional oil! I just totally disregard the thing, except to reset, so it’ll quit “reminding ” me.
A friends honda registers only 20% oil usage and he drove 4400kms since I did oil change. My car never cam with that feature. I can buy a replacement Wiper switch that has the feature. If i were to install that in my car would it just work at veriable speeds automatically or do i need a upgraded wiper motor too?
You might try comparing the OEM part number. If it’s all the same, there’s the answer.
I have a aftermarket radio, Shift Knob, Pedal covers, License Plate frames and Valve Stem caps on the wheels. Is my car “Molested”?
Did you do a hack job putting it in?
Do your over size wheels rub the fenders?
Do you have electrical issues, because you’ve bypassed factory wiring?
If you’ve got any or all of these issues, then yes, I’d say its been molested.
I have a aftermarket radio, Shift Knob, Pedal covers, License Plate frames and Valve Stem caps on the wheels. Is my car “Molested”?
How do you “Molest” a car?
A car is considered “molested ” when someone puts after market mods on it. Some mods aren’t bad, especially if it’s something you like. But if the previous owner cuts out the fender well, to put on 18 in. Wheels that rub the fenders when turning, or going over small bumps, that isn’t good. Another example is if they did a hack job, on the wiring, to install an after market radio. If they’ve bypassed fuses to get their cooling fan, or power windows to work, etc.

Lubrication is important, so I’d do all that’s been recommended so far. But I’d also add, to make sure the latch is lining up with the slot that it goes into. I’ve seen the latch bent slightly, not allowing the latch up into the slot. Preventing the hood from closing. It’s very hard to see because it’s only about an inch from closing, but look for signs like a scratch in the paint, or such

Count the turns, when removing the outer tie rod. And if you’re installing the exact same brand inner, then it’ll be close as you’ll ever need. Best practice, to still get a shop alignment after a job like that tho. The key, is it being exactly the same part no.
