Is there a way to check for a bad ignition switch or does it just have to be changed out.

Also one more question before I check anything else. When I try to start the engine, it sometimes will sound like it is still trying to crank even after the key is in the off position.could that indicate timing being off?

The parts guy was my dad and I was able to see the starter was bad. We have check for spark at the plugs. It was good. The f fuses are all good. This is why I am stumped. We took the starter of because there were times it wouldn’t even try to crank. Could the crank sensor be bad? I have no clue where to go next. Once again thank you

The fuel pump was weak. It was diagnosed as a weak pump. The car tries to crank just not getting the gas to the motor. The fuel pump was replaced yesterday. The battery is not dead and I can hear it engage when I turn the car from off to the run position.
