      Thats funny started at a hyundai dealer too only got my silver cert though now i switched to dodge totally different beast. I kinda miss hyundai i knew those cars pretty good lol just made sense.

            Pocket screwdriver, Matco magnetic grabber (love that thing) . Finally swivel sockets and a good screw gun.

                Make sure you show your interest in moving up. Stay current with your training take as many classes as you can try and find a tech that can show you the ropes when your not busy. Some techs don’t want to help but others will which is cool. I don’t know if every other dealer is the same as the 2 I’ve worked at but what i did is when all my oil changes were done i would go around to the line techs and see if there was something i could do to help. Some said sure and i learned a lot that way.

                    I came out of lincoln tech started working at a dealership as a lube tech for 10/hr. Waited 3 months got a raise to 12/hr then finally just decided to go flat rate at 18/hr. Now i moved to Alaska so the cost of living is higher lube techs are paid 12 an hour and I’m making 25 flat rate as a line tech.
