Well the only one that can truely answer that question is yourself, i started at a dealer as a lube tech while i was in tech school and i would do all the lofs and when i wasnt busy id help the techs to learn i was a lube tech for like 4 months and then i went flat rate. If you dont feel comfortable with your skill set then yes i would talk to him and see if you could apprentice for a while to get the swing of things. Its not easy right out of school. School makes it seem easy then when you get hired its a whole new ball game lol its kinda rough being thrown into the mix of things where its either sink or swim. If your boss is as reasonable as he sounds he might be willing to let you shadow and learn a bit from a more experienced tech, the only other problem is finding the tech that isnt grumpy all the time and is willing to teach you lol

When you turn the key and start the car it is normal for the abs light to stay on for a few seconds its a self check and the problem you are having sounds like it is on the scan tool side

Did you match the old part to the new part and make sure they are the same?

Yea follow the steps in erics video and you should get all the air out me personally i perform the procedure like 2 to 3 times and make sure the heater is blowing nice and hot before i call it good. And no a bleeder is not neccesary to bleed an engine just raise the rpms to like 1800 and hold it there as if theres air you will see alot of bubbles. You fo this with the heater on and fan on low

I know this wouldnt explain the balloned radiator hose but are you absolutely sure that you got all the air out of the cooling system and while the head was off did you check and make sure that the block was not warped from over heating the car so bad

I went to tech school my self and that alone got my foot in the door as far as getting into a dealership but ill tell you one thing just like these guys are saying there is no better teacher than experience. 2 year programs are great to get your foot in the door but the real teacher is experience. So i have both tech school and dodge jeep chrysler certs as well as hyundai certs tech school doesnt hurt.

yea at my shop we have a machine that can test the evap system with smoke or air it fills the system with smoke and if theres a leak you follow the smoke its a really nice tool but really expensive from what I hear.
