4 clyinder car? these qr25de engines are known for having crank sensor issues.
yeah its weird the the accord 4 cylinders of the same year or that generation have really quick instant acceleration. but once you get it going its really good up top. just wish vtec was set a lot lower. ive heard that to. but hondata has claims of the manual version making more power and tq when equipped with intake header and a relfash.
i had the chance to drive another car, an 04, it felt identical to mine. meaning the throttle response and the acceration. gonna clean my throttle body and install a new gasket and run some of this fancy injector cleaner we have at work through the fuel system and i should be good to go
i changed all the fluids, new oem plugs, adjusted the valves. this car has coil on plug so there isn’t any cap and rotor. but all coil packs are in good shape. no evidence of them pulling high amounts of current. meaning discoloring. cleaning the throttle body is recommenced, honda has a preceudre for it. the egr is also a good idea i didn think of. im gonna check the app sensor with the scan tool at work. ( i work at honda, so luckily its all the same stuff for the most part.) see if there is something going on there.
the car dose not rev high before it starts moving, so i know i dont have a trans problem. . id really like to drive another car and compare it.
thanks for the ideas guysQuoted From wafrederick:
There is one huge problem and I see this a lot,the Japanese don’t give out any diagnostics including the European car makers to Mitchell and Alldata.Had this with a 2001 Eclipse, some was not working in the transmission and there were no diagnostics to go by in the Mitchell program. There is one Toyota car used car dealers don’t want, the Toyota Prius and I know one used car that mainly wholesales lost money on a couple. The batteries are special batteries and are more than the car is worth.I have seen a Honda with GM parts and Honda does have some junk out there. The transmission in the Honda Mini vans are junk,$2,500.00 for an used transmission if it is any good.Same in the newer Honda Accords and I won’t do another one called a pita with the V6 engine.
i disagree. alldata has everthing pretty much on there. but when you say give out diagnostics, what are you refering to?
thanks guys! i actually learned everything i know out side of school. lots of reading and tinkering with things and learning how things work. so therefore i saved myself some money and didnt go and went right into it.
