Have you checked for a sticky throttlee. Check the cable connection at the throttle-body. Probably would not “surge”,, but might be stuck high and then release. If you tap the accelerator and quickly release it, does the idle condition change?

Could be nasties in the fuel tank or perhaps a something is obstructing the intake from the tano to the fuel pump, but only when it gets low enough. Might have something floating around in ghe tank, and when the fuel level gets low enough it gets sucked up blocking the pickup tube.

Yep, the red thing with the plastic wrap and electrical tape is what passed for a breather. Not sure what head is on it. I just wanted to keep junk outa the intake. When i bought it, there was a big hole in the pipe, between the filter and the throttle body. That pipe is actually dryer exhaust pipe.

Did the new thermostat fix the problem? Is the heater staying warm now?

Did the wrench hit anything besides the pavement when you dropped it? You put the wrench info in the post for some reason. Why? Do you suspect that there is a connection between the dropped wrench and the problem?

Drill the bolt enough to get an extractor to bight, or weld a piece of stock onto it and use the stock to back the bolt out. Before you do anything, hit the broken bolt with some penetrating oil, and let it soak in for a few hours. Good luck.

Are you saying that the engine is missing out so bad that the front end of the vehicle is shaking when the car is not moving, or that the shaking occurs when you are driving down the road. The question is whether it is the misfiring engine that is causing the shaking, or is it the car’s interaction with the road that is causing the shaking.
