Found the problem, fuel sender unit float is full of fuel its punctured and also when testing for the full travel of it, needle went mad when hitting half tank it was bouncing
yeah it has a mechanical fuel pump, im gonna takee out the fuel sender unit and maybe clean it or replace it, i will check its resistance.
It bounces around
Brakes harden instantly, i replaced check valve because i had a spare one still same issue, the pedal returns instantly with the engine off so i think its a booster issue thats why it does it only with engine running
Check valve is working i tested it
I dont have a pump but when i turn off the vehicle oedal comes hard instantly. Its supposed to have atleast one easy push right ?
Tightened it noise is still there but i know where the noise is coming from, the brake pads are rubbing on the rust ridge at the edge of the rotor, for an unknown reason and the rotor has a deep score in it
Thanks for the reply i didnt tighten it up with a torwue wrench, i will go to a shop to tighten it properly today and the wheel bearings are new
Thanks for the reply. I will change it to 80w90 as it seems more right to me than engine oil in a gearbox. Cant check for sure as my manual hasnt arrived yet
No i havent taken it to a shop im a diyer man type lol, i just assumed its cv but i dont think it is because it has very low miles, i will check tomorrow as you say
And i have another issue with it when im at a stop sign i slowly release the clutch and turn the steeribg to the right i hear clicking noise, even the slightest turn, i know it can be cv joint but i just find it hard to believe its bad as the car has only 24 k miles
This havent got rear differential. I havent got haynes at the moment. 2 shops told me the same thing they checked on their database
Thanks guys !! Replaced the fuel sender today and it worked brilliantly 🙂
Thanks for the reply. Yeah its a very odd resistance. Yeah the coil of the sender is rusty and the float is a bit punctured also
Hi i have a 1999 1.3l skoda felicia petrol. Recently i stopped with no fuel due fo a fault in either the gauge or sending unit. The gauge was stuck in just above quarter tank, then i refilled with petrol to the max and now its stuck on full gauge no matter how many days of using the car. Now i already removed the sending unit. It has 3 wires. Yellow is ground and its showing good continuity, brown is to the gauge and it shows 3.15volts and a blue wire which shows 7.9 volts. I then bench tested the sender and the resistance is 420 ohms when tank is full and 430 ohms when tank is empty. Also when i put the float in petrol to test it. When i lower the float the gauge rises and when i put the float higher the gauge lowers. Am i right in thinking this sender is shot as it should be vice versa right ?
