He is talking about using the wrong type of sparkplug – some have longer reach into the combustion chamber. Double check that the right plug was used (maybe compare them to one you took out).
As for blue smoke, like spelunkerd said, when you overfill the crankcase there is certainly a possibility that oil is being sucked into the PCV system and burned.
It’s been my experience that products like PB don’t do anything in these situations. Heat would be good, but I understand your concern of being next to the tank. You could use an impact but make absolutely sure the 3/8 drive is fully seated in that plug before you start. The ‘rattle’ action of the impact should make quick work of it. The last one I took out (for a car) I had to use a 3′ breaker bar and even then it fought me all the way.
As for gaskets, my choice would be a gasket installed dry. If you need to use something to keep the gasket in place for installation I’d use a spay-on gasket adhesive.

Go for Gearwrench – just keep your eyes open for the set to go on sale either at Sears or Autozone. I’ve seen them at 60%+ off for several times in the last 2 months.

Also, in regards to the red sports car that was posted earlier, it is an Alfa Romeo Spider, however, Italy is not between Germany and England…[/quote]Actually the early ones were called “Duetto”, but you are right that it later was renamed to “Spider” and that’s what it was known as until they ended production 27 years later.
My bad on the geography lesson!

I believe Beck Arnley will be the OEM part just in a different box.If they have it in stock go check it out to make sure.

Like jonbkobb said, it‘s a good idea to get an alignment. But I will add that it’s more important on some cars than others depending on the suspension design. For instance, on a Honda Accord the front struts have nothing to do with the steering geometry/alignment of the car – it’s really just a shock absorber with a spring, so it’s not critical to get it aligned after strut replacement. Other cars (some GM’s come to mind) where the strut is part of the steering system – the whole thing pivots at the top – I would definitely get it aligned.
