I had the same thing happen on my 2004 Honda Civic years ago. The dealership replaced the voltage regulator but that did not fix the problem. Next, they replaced the alternator and that solved the problem. Have you had your battery tested? Does your Civic have the voltage regulator integrated in the alternator? I would also make sure you don’t have any loose connections.

It’s possible the battery could drain enough that it wouldn’t have enough power to start the vehicle after 60 days. That’s a long time. If you are going to have a car sit that long you should connect it to a battery maintainer. ETCG has a good video on checking for parasitic draw. That will tell you if your car is drawing more power than it should while it’s sitting.

After some more research, it looks like that black plastic part is the breather cover. But I’m wondering if the oil is actually leaking from there, or if it is leaking from the cam seal higher up. Is there any way to tell if the leak is coming from the cam seal without taking the whole engine apart? I have 187,000 miles on this Civic and the timing belt and tensioner was replaced at a Honda dealership at 114,000 miles. I’m not sure if the cam seal was replaced then or not.
