My question to all of you that will buy tools only made in the USA is, does that only go for your tools but the other things you use as well?
I try very hard to buy American made in all purchases, it takes some effort but is do-able, not always convenient. Then there are some items for which it is just not possible, or too expensive for me to justify it, i.e. tool chests.

You can, but it eats paint, breaks down certain plastics, I wouldn’t use it there.

Yeah, Craftsman mechanics hand tools used to be mostly American made. Now they have started making many of them in China. you have to check to be sure. The quality of the US made tools has been in decline as well over the past 10 years. Thin chrome, rough finish etc. Here they have partnered with ACE hardware selling the Craftsman line, most of what they stocked recently were still the US made stuff, until that runs out. Sears is dying, stores are closing, closest one to me is quite a drive now. I’ve accumulated quite a lot of their tools over the years, sucks to see them on the way out.
