I’ve been looking for a good scanner for a few months now and snap on mt2500 keeps coming up as a good one. just purchased one last night and it wont read obd11. it says “incorrect u15 revision level, u15 should be gci 2.0 or later”. does this have to do with the keys, because it came with none. the cartridges go up to year 2000 but wont work in any obd11 thus far. I appreciate any help on this matter.

i used to have a 2000 accord vtec, and drove it normally until a friend showed me how those engines were ment to be driven. from my understanding they start producing actual power at a high rpm. after he showed me, i was shifting at 5k and had high power with no ill effects on the engine. sometimes shifting at 7-8k.

very good story. thank you for taking the time to tell it. i just had my first interview for a entry level position with a service manager at volvo and wished i would have read this first. before reading this i thought i should go back and pick his brain about the industry and what he would suggest i do starting out, like i should have done the first time, not just talking about getting the job. after what you said, i wont hesitate to give him a call and see what happens.

i thought if the fluid was really bad that changing it would most likly cause the trasmission to fail because its used to the thick stuff now, and may start leaking because the new fluid is thinner. i have a new engine and transmission for this car, but id like to practice as much as i can on diagnosing problems before auto tech school starts in a few months. all help is appreciated. sounds like i have both tranny and engine performance issues.
