do you think that had something to do with the new engine being put in it? I didn’t have this problem with the old engine. the flashing check engine light never came on nor did the exhaust leak or the smell of gas.

I had the same issue with my impala. 3.4 is close to the 3.1. my issue was kind of speratic as well. finally replaced the upper and lower intake gaskets and it was fixed. these gm engines had issues with the intake gaskets failing. its not a hard fix at all, just get a repair manual and dig in. if its not the intake, its not that much more work to go down to the heads. I might be wrong, but all the issues you have mentioned were the same for my car. you can get a rebuilt engine for less than $1600 easy.

not bad. they were asking $350, par for the course as far as ebay goes. I offered $250 and he accepted. I cant find the list of what keys I need online. I have several cars I work on and I plan on doing side jobs. I need a key for the make of the car? I never have understood how the keys work.

I’ve been looking for a good scanner for a few months now and snap on mt2500 keeps coming up as a good one. just purchased one last night and it wont read obd11. it says “incorrect u15 revision level, u15 should be gci 2.0 or later”. does this have to do with the keys, because it came with none. the cartridges go up to year 2000 but wont work in any obd11 thus far. I appreciate any help on this matter.
