Regular, conventional oil only… ticking sound is annoying. I wish Siennas came with JZ engines.
I was thinking if I messed up the timing or the previous person did, should it make tapping noise like that? I think when the timing is off it should give me misfire CELs correct? Just want to be clear it is not the timing problem.

The IAC is on the left side of the plenum right above the PCV valve and the EGR valve is on the right side of the plenum… Take a good look at them and the PCV hose.
Also take a look at the rear exhaust manifold where it meets in the y pipe… Those go bad at the flex joint…. Also I have seen these burn through Exhaust donuts…

Karl,
Do these have something to do with the noise I mentioned?

In those 2 videos, the noise sounds louder because of the my phone’s microphone, should be a little less louder.
So you guys are saying, it is fine to drive it like that? I wonder thicker oil such as 15-40 would help?
How does the car drive? Sounds like the engine was ran low on oil at one point and some damage happened. If the car drives good I wouldn’t worry about it. I had a customer with an old Nissan Extera that sounded worst but but was driving fine for the last three years.
Runs great shifts great no vibration, no hesitation. And this is before I did the tune up. What I did so far: timing belt, all idlers, water pump, all seals, tensioner, drive belts. Coolant flush, new oe spark plugs and wires. New oe thermostat, oil change, a/t filter, a/t oil change…brake fluid flush, and new wipers lol.
New video comin right up

Karl,
I did took off the 2 valve covers because I just wanted to change the valve cover gaskets and cam seals. Guess what? I was so happy that the camshafts, shims, and all that area is super clean! No sludge build up except mild build up on the valve covers which i already removed with ease.
I can take another video with accelarating th throttle
