so is ethylene glycol coolant green? or is red and green coolant ethylene glycol?
no i dont have a check engine light on i sprayed every vacuum line and all around the intake with carb cleaner to check for leaks RPM never changed and took the throttle body off and sprayed it with throttle body cleaner and its spotless
i know everyone is saying vacuum leak but trust me ive dont evey test in the book to check for leaks and there are no leaks i just ruled out the cat tonight and i ordered a computer since its the only thing left to replace but what stumps me is it only has this issue during a certain time frame like if you get it hot and shut it off and wait a minute it will fire right up and if you wait like an hour it will fire right up but once you try after about 15 mins is when it has the problem but this has me stumped ive literally replaced every sensor and also what has me confused is since ive replaced all this stuff it runs better and stronger then it ever has!! it just does that wierd thing where it stalls after 15 mins
yes i used a spark tester and i also used a fuel pressure gage and it was in spec but the IACV when i first got it i put it straight in and didnt touch it and dove a couple days and had absolutly so changes but then i adjusted it and it got a little better but it really seems as though its working in reverse if thats even possible
ive done all those test and i have a good spark and good fuel pressure
thats what i did at first i just installed it drove a couple days and still had the problem so i took it back out and read how to adjust it and now its slightly better but not much
ok well im still having the problem, which is once i drive it and bring it to temp then i shut it off if i try to start it right away it will start but if it sits about 15 mins it will not sart it will start for a sec then die and will not restart for about 20mins i have done a fuel pressure test during the no start condition and fuel pressure was good i also have a good spark during the no start condition ive checked for vacuum leaks and there is none ive replaced just about everything including
distributer cap
rotor
plugs
wires
the thing that sits under the cap (i cant remember the name) but it times the spark
fuel pressure regulator
Engine coolant temp sensor
crank shaft position sensor
mass air flow sensor
fuel injectors
idle air control valveyea its not closing off but shouldnt it have a higher idle when cold and lower idle when warm?
its a 1995 jeep wrangler with a 2.5 and yup its adjustable
yes i replaced the fuel filter, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, injectors, fuel pressure regulator, and crank position sensor, and tomorrow im replacing the IACV
i did do a fuel pressure test today, and at idle it stayed at 47 psi, and when i just turned the key to “on” the pressure spiked up to 47 and stayed there after the key was off
well i have tapped on every sensor i can find under the hood with a screw driver and nothing changes and if it helps ill add this on too the symptoms the problem is getting progressivly worse in the early stages i could give it gas and rev it back to life but now it starts and just dies ONLY after its brought to temp but it will only die after its drove about 4 miles then you can shut it off and if you try to start it 1- 5 mins after it sits it starts no problem but after it sits 10-15 it stalls and wont start back up again for another 20-30 BUT if you drive it then come home and shut it off and dont touch it for about an hour it starts no problem
would that make the engine stall when warm?
as far as MPG it stays at 14, but also i noticed in the cold weather the temp gauge will go to about 230 and stay there a few seconds then in about 3 seconds it will drop to about 180, would that have anything to do with this?
i will deffinetly replace it and no i never have got a check engine light
