Yeah I bet he means a soda bottle 🙂
Hi!
I hate to start a thread for this seeing as how I’m probably the last of the Mohicans to start using the new forum. I’m having some difficulties and was hoping that anybody would help me.
Of course!
How can I change email settings? I want to continue using the same email, but I don’t need to receive as many messages as I’m getting. I seem to get alot of automatic emails when threads are updated.
All these emails are coming from subscriptions to threads. A subscription sends an e-mail to you every time a reply is made. There’s a couple of ways to avoid this if you don’t want them.
- There is a subscribe checkbox when you post any message. Uncheck it and you won’t be subscribed.
- If you’ve already subscribed to one (sounds like it!), go to My ETCG at the top of the page. Once there, click on User Profile. Finally, click on the Subscriptions tab, select the checkboxes for the threads you want to unsubscribe from, click on – Choose Action – and change it to Unsubscribe, then click Go. That will unsubscribe you from the threads.
How do I change my password? I’ve been meaning to do this because I have to go to my email and copy/paste the new forum password that was auto sent to me. I’d like to use a password that I create so that I can remember the durned thing.
Click on the Edit button on the User Profile page, type in the new password in both the Password and Verify Password boxes, and click save.
Is there a thread/post with the general etcg forum rules of the road? I say what’s on my mind, and call it like I see it. I’d like to read up/refresh my memory on Eric’s rules for this forum so as to avoid stepping on people’s toes and/or breaking the rules.
I want to thank anyone who can help now. You rock.
It looks like specific forum rules are on the top threads on each forum. Things like the getting internet advice about car repair or the technicians only forum are examples. I don’t think I’ve seen any beyond the legalese you agree to when you first sign up.
