About the brake booster. Get some pliers on cold start up and pinch the vacuum hose going to your booster and see if that fixes your high idle while you are pinching it.
Otherwise do you have any cooling system problems ? I’m not a carburetor expert, so i’ll just give an idea or a far possibility.
Other than vaccum leak form brake booster and all, what if your thermostat is stuck open so the car is taking long time to catch heat so the engine stays up trying to get to operating temp.
Will try to gap the plugs, although i never did that before and i heard not to do that on iridium plugs, but i will research how to.
And the new ngk plugs have the same id number as the fomoco ones, but im not sure about the heat range and all that.
And good point about coils not seating properly or not being plugged in all the way. Because i do recognize one coil on cylinder number 4, that was sticking out more than the rest, i tried to adjust it, remove put it back on, but it stayed like that, so i thought it’s normal since i’ve seen that on some other car as well. Yet again i didn’t over fiddle with that one. I will check this asap
Appreciate your help
Thanks for your reply, I will try to test for vaccum leak, but i doubt it because i always keep an eye on vaccum.
Another thing I forgot to mention, the plugs between fomoco and ngk have the SAME id number
Just in case any were done wrong:
Is the car on a level surface?
Are you pulling the dip stick out, cleaning it, putting it back in and then check the level ?If you did all that correctly next question is
Did you put a dry filter in ? remember the oil still has to circulate to the filter which takes that excess oil you’re seeing on your dipstick my friend.
In case that’s the issue, a solution to that is just to run the car for 1 minute, turn it off, wait 2-5 minutes and check oil level.
Another more technical solution is to pull your fuel pump fuse out and crank the car for 10-15 seconds which will circulate the oil without the car turning on and will fill your filter up and get some oil going everywhere really. If you didn’t put your filter dry, Last option is to just drain 1 quart from the drain plug or so, and slowly fill the oil back while constantly checking the dipstick like i told you 🙂
