damn….yesterday I tried to change my fuel filter but I was afraid to break the screw on top.
It does not move anywhere. Then I decided to spray penetrating oil on it and try again next day.
So….today is next day and it still does not move even a bit. argh!

Maybe I should wait until I can get a new one just in case breaking it.
Is it just a Bolt, or is it a hollow-core bolt like on brake lines?

ok I’m back.

I could not find any obvious voltage or vacuum leaks.
But I was able to locate the whistling noise. Not only that. I also noticed that it makes a plopping noise when turning the key in the on position and a noise that sounds like a pressure release when turning the key back.

Here is a video I made in which you can hear both noises.
I turned the key twice in on position and back in the first video.
The second video is self-explaining.
There is no picture because it was too dark for the camera.

The noise seems to come from this region. I suspect the thing in the center of the circle.

What part is it? What is it for?

luckily its dark outside right now.
I’ll check for voltage leaks and possible vacuumleaks right now.

see you later and thanks 🙂

Hi and thanks for the quick response.

Unfortunately I don’t have access to such a STF scan tool.
For the spraying test I only have Starter-Spray but I think this will do fine, too.
Right now I don’t have any idle problems. Stable RPMs.

@ college man
Yeah, I bought the NGK Plugs which are mentioned in the owners manual.
I changed the plugs first to see if that solves my problem, but nope.
No parts have been changed yet except the plugs. Everything else is still OEM.
Fuel filter will be replaced in a minute, I’m about to go outside.

I’ll watch the video about the ignition leaks and see if thats an issue on my car.
Throttle cleaning is a good idea also. Do I need to buy dedicated throttle cleaner or will break cleaner also do its job?

Somehow I have the feeling that I have an overall performance problem.
Top Speed is not there where it should be also. And at the point the VTEC valve switches it feels like my car decelerates a litte. I can feel the point where it switches but the car gets a little slower. When I reach the point where the multistage intake manifold switches I feel the car going forward like it should…

I’ll have an eye on the leaking oilpan and if that does not solve the problem I guess that I have to live with it._x000D_

The top of the engine is completely dry. It really seems to be the oilpan gasket. Since an oilchange is not too far away I’m thinking of changing the gasket too._x000D_
Shouldn’t be a big deal except for the price of the oem gasket…_x000D_

No blue smoke from exhaust, the engine itself is dry I suspect it is the oilpan gasket which leaks a little because above this gasket everything is dry._x000D_
I’ll try to get a look from under the car some day. The ground where I have parked is dry also. No dr

first of all I will need to find it 😉 _x000D_
i guess it is somewhere around the crankcase, right?

hi thanks for the tipp. it is near the oilfilter, that is correct. but it looks ok also._x000D_

but a closer look at the engine today revealed a little bit leaked oil around the oilpan gasket._x000D_
and since the exhaust manifold is quite close to it that could be
