the vehicle is a 2000 ford focus with 140k miles
I think that the amount they are charging you is a little steep but it depends on what was done and what parts did they use. Remember that parts and labor are not cheap.Ask them to give you a work order from the machine shop and the car shop, to see what was done at both shops.

April 19, 2012 at 11:00 am in reply to: At what mileage should you change your oil viscosity???? #443991@ johnzcarz i have heard that same advice but a little different. I heard that you should change the viscosity of your oil when your car has a large amount of miles and your internals have more wear. And changing the viscosity will better lubricate
I have to agree with college man, water does not break down carbon. This will not clean engine carbon deposits in the engine just create a little smoke at the tail pipe.
If you go for the vacuum pump bleeder method you can get one at harbor freight tools.I bought mine from harbor freight tools for $16 with a coupon and i think the regular price is $26.
You can get the simple cheap ones that only give you the codes and they will work, but if you want to have an easier time diagnosing a vehicle find one with live data. I know they are a little bit more expensive but trust me its worth it. I have the innova 3130 with live data and it cost me about $127 at amazon.
Go for it man there is nothing to be afraid of, age is just a number.
The air in the system can cause the over heating ,but not the disappearing of the coolant. I think you should check your heads and head gaskets to see if the heads are warped or the gaskets are cracked.
Thanks guy for all your good input ,but the gas tank isn’t rusting away. The filler neck was all rusted and all the rust went into the tank, so all that rust fucked up the gas pump. How to get rid of all the sticky rust on the fuel pump housing and inside the tank? was the question. I did not know that crown vics came with a plastic tank lol.
Welcome to the forum!
Thanks man i forgot i needed to flush all the lines too, while i am at it i think i will clean the injectors.I was thinking on putting some rust remover on the tank but i don’t know if its safe for the tank. I wonder if the protective liner that the tank has would come off if i use it.
A friend of mine has the injector cleaning machine so, i dont have to take off any injectorsT).
Yeah i already looked at the amazon ones i like the prices and the ratings helped me choose one thats reliable also.I also saw the harbor freight ones, but the ratings weren’t that great, some leaked and the gage filled up with fuel. Final decision Amazon.T) Thank you for the help!
