So here we go again after thinking that we had the problem fixed. My sons car has been running great for the last few days and he took his girl friend home after school today and now car won’t start. I am completely lost here now as the car has been running i thought great but now this again today.

I don’t even know where to start looking on why the car runs great for awhile then he turns it off for 20 min or so and now he can’t get it started. He keeps trying to start it and no go but after awhile it will start. Why?

What would you guys do now? Where to start looking?

So guys I just want to take some time and thank everyone that helped me out with this issue as I now have the problem solved. In the end it was the manifold gasket. When I replaced it it didn’t look to bad at all but when I smoked tested it is was leaking between 2 and 3. Also did the vacuum test like I said earlier in this post and the vacuum all checked out good. Car runs good and my son is happy that we got this problem solved.

Again thank you everyone that helped out.

I was also reading the a common problem on these 2.4 liters is that the vacuum hose from the MAP sensor cracks. Any pictures that I look at don’t really make any sense to me. Can someone explain where this vacuum hose is.

              Thanks

I understand it has nothing to do with misfire as I have the misfire part solved. I am having issues with the car stalling out every then and again. This is why I was thinking maybe the air oil separator has something to do with it. Was cleaning out the air filter and noticed there was oil all through the housing.Maybe so corrodide with oil that its not getting enough air possibly.

Where is the air/oil seperater for PCV. Was thinking this could be part of the problem. Need to know where the location is and how to clean it?

Could this cause the problem? Thought maybe the PCV Valve but I don’t think the 2.4 liters have a PCV Valve please correct me if I am wrong.

                      Thanks

Maybe i will check the fuel pressure tomorrow. Not sure where is the main line i connect to test the pressure to see if I am getting 50 PSI.

                              Thanks

Same 2.4 liter. I did get the misfire sorted out. I changed all 4 fuel injectors and no misfire anymore. Just put some sea foam motor treatment in gas tank to clean the injectors. But been having this problem from the beginning as the engine runs great now but every now and then it stalls out and then we can not get it started again for about 30 min. Once I wait the 30 min its all good again. Not sure why. Actually I have no idea why its doing this. Going in on Wednesday for a vacuum leak test but other than that i don’t even know where to start next.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

                                  Thanks
